Entertainment Tonight - The companion site to the syndicated TV program does a nice job featuring celebrity, movie and television news above and beyond the show's content. In other words, it's more than just a teaser site for the show … though there are still some promotional elements.
People - People does a nice job providing a web site that complements their print publication. Rather than just providing teasers to this week's print stories, the online version provides additional content and Interactive polls as well.
OK! Magazine - This is the site of the hot British celebrity tabloid publication that summarizes the latest showbiz news, as well as previews the week's print edition.
TMZ - Apparently, this is the site that the celebs aren't too happy about. It addresses the latest rumors and includes lots of user comment postings. It's been noted for its candid celebrity photos, which capture the stars in some not so glam, not so flattering shots.
Hollywood.com - There's a lot of content on this movie-centric site, which features movie reviews, video trailers of the latest releases, interviews with cast members, as well as the latest casting news. It also provides celebrity news and photos, a directory of fan sites, celebrity birthdays and polls.
E! Entertainment - The pressure is on for the web site of the leading entertainment network to have the world of celebrity covered and their site delivers. It's an easy-to-navigate site with robust content of celebrity news and features as well as the latest on movies and television. A highlight is Ted Casablanca's "Awful Truth" column, a very cheeky look at celebrity gossip, including his “Blind Vice” section, which uses code names for the celebrities he's dishing to avoid potential lawsuits. The only down side to the site is the constant promotion of network programming.
US Weekly - This online version of the magazine does a good job providing alternate content to the print edition. There are lots of Interactive polls and games. A recent "What Hollywood Will Look Like in 2026" game took current pictures of some celebrity's children and morphed them into what they might look like as young adults … featured celeb tykes included Britney Spears' son and Gyneth Paltrow's little one, Apple.
Entertainment Weekly - Another online version of a popular celebrity publication. Though not a particularly "juicy" site, EW.com has a lot of positive features and lots of content. It provides comprehensive coverage of the entertainment world including TV, movies, books and music. The Pop Culture section features the most gossipy news along with posted reader comments. Much of the content is updated daily, keeping it fresher than the weekly print version.
Defamer - A L.A.-focused tongue-in-cheek celebrity gossip site. This juicy outlet covers the latest Hollywood news stories with commentary. There is some profanity on the site.
Sky Showbiz - Another site from "across the pond." This gossipy U.K.-based site highlights mostly UK and U.S. celebrity news in the worlds of film, fashion and television.
Page Six - New York Post - This is the online version of the "Page Six" gossip section of the New York Post. It features the columns of veteran gossip queens, Liz Smith and Cindy Adams. Also features loads of celeb photos.
Talk Entertainment - Serves as a portal to some of the juiciest celebrity stories on the web with a teaser and link to each story.
