Reverend Church explores the concept of "God With Us" and explains how the birth of Christ relates to our modern day celebrations.  He ask the question of "why do we place so much value on a day based on pagan traditions and customs."  He also moves to suggest what is truly important during the season and during these turbulent times.  Those of us seeking higher meaning beyond the commercialism of Christmas should find a message in the sermon Pastor Church shares.

Reverend H. Carlyle Church Jr. has been the pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Virginia since 1997.  Reverend Church is a graduate of Howard University in Washington D.C. and is currently seeking his doctorate in Theology at Princeton University. 

Jerusalem Baptist Church was founded October 15, 1872 by N. Riddick and Edward Wilson on Williams Row in Norfolk.  The founding pastor was Reverend Lewis Tucker.  The church family moved to its current site on Tidewater Drive in 1948 under the leadership of Reverend C. D. Ellis.  Jerusalem now has approximately 250 members and is considering a move to a new location.
